Ariel Corniel was born in the Dominican Republic – more precisely in the small but world-famous coastal town of Cabarete. There, where trade winds, sun and waves create ideal conditions for kitesurfers, Ariel discovered his passion for the sea and the wind at an early age. Even as a teenager, he attracted attention with his exceptional technique, impressive athleticism and a natural talent that did not go unnoticed.
Ariel quickly became one of the most successful kitesurfers in the world. Multiple World Cup champion, celebrated athlete at international competitions and role model for a whole generation of young Dominicans. In a discipline that combines strength, balance and creativity, Ariel has always been a style-defining name.

After his active professional career, Ariel decided to pass on his knowledge and passion – in his own personal way. He founded his own kite school in Sicily, where he now teaches students from all over the world. Here, at a new but no less fascinating spot, he remains true to the sport and his philosophy: freedom, precision and the joy of gliding over the water.
Even though Ariel now lives in Europe, Cabarete will always be his home. The community here is proud of its champion, who has not only set standards in terms of sport, but also as a person.
